We add our voice to campaigns that focus on building patient- centred healthcare globally
Fight the Fakes
IAPO is a partner of the Fight the Fakes a campaign that aims to raise awareness about the dangers of fake medicines. The campaign gives a voice to those who have been personally impacted and shares the stories of those working to put a stop to this threat to public health. It seeks to build a global movement of organizations and individuals who will shine light on the negative impact that fake medicines have on people around the globe and to reduce the negative consequences on individuals worldwide. Fight the Fakes campaign is the first campaign to address the issue of responsibility from the beginning to the end of the pharmaceutical supply chain, by involving and coordinating stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds.
World Patient Safety Day
This first annual World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) is a moment for the global health community to come together to raise public awareness, understanding and engagement globally of the need to work towards global solidarity and action by all to promote patient safety.
WPSD and the day will be celebrated on Tuesday 17th September. The campaign is a result of the WHA7.6 Resolution ‘Global Action on Patient Safety’ passed on May 28, 2019 at the World Health Assembly. The passing of the resolution is a global commitment made by all WHO member states to recognize patient safety as a key health priority and agreeing to take action to reduce patient harm in health care settings.
