The manufacture and distribution of falsified medicines is a growing public health risk with an untold cost to lives. However, the implementation of the safety features of the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) on February 9 2019, is a major advance that will greatly help to protect patients from falsified medicines.

In this regard, a round table discussion entitled "Improving patient safety with the FMD in the hospital pharamcy, status of impementation" will take place on Tuesday February 19, 2019 from 14:00 to 16:00 in the European Parliament, room ASP 5E-3.

This conference aims to create a positive and practical atmosphere to help debate solutions that will be supportive of the implementation of the verification of prescription packs in the hospital pharmacy setting.
