IAPO at 73rd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean

The 73rd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean took place in Cairo from 13-15 October 2026, and during this event IAPO delivered a statement on Agenda Item 6(a) – 'Advancing health financing for stronger financial protection in the Eastern Mediterranean Region: pathways to equity and resilience'.

Board member Dr. Wael Ali delivered the statement, which supported adoption of the draft resolution EM/RC73/R.3(D), and urged Member States and WHO to prioritise important actions including social participation in financing decisions, primary health care that works for people, and accountability.
