The NCD Care Continuum: Taking Multi-Sectoral Action to Advance Management of NCDs
Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 9:30 - 11:30 am
The Harvard Club of New York City, 35 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036
The private sector, from health care companies to technology companies, in collaboration with patient organizations, NGOs, government and academe, has the capacity to develop solutions to address barriers to the treatment and care of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and cancer. With more than 70% of deaths attributed to NCDs in 2015, an increased focus on all aspects of the care continuum, especially management and self-management, is crucial to addressing the challenge of NCDs. As the number of people with multiple chronic conditions or risk factors increases, the development of greater support and tools is imperative to manage long-term health and quality of life. Moreover, technologies and digital solutions should be leveraged to accelerate progress to addressing NCD challenges.
