Joshua Wamboga, Chair Elect
Joshua Wamboga is a patient advocate with experience in integrated health programme management and leadership. He currently serves as the Executive Director for the Uganda Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (UAPO).

Joshua previously served as the Team Leader for Advocacy & Networking at The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) in Uganda; one of the largest AIDS support organizations in Africa caring for over 100,000 active patients.
He is a member of various committees, boards, and has been a panelist in global healthcare debates to address and influence policy making processes, such as patients’ needs driving innovation in global health.
Experience
- Board Member of the “Country Coordinating Mechanism" (CCM) for the global fund in Uganda; promoting accountability and transparency
- Member of World Health Organization (WHO)'s 'Stop TB' partnership working group on new drugs
- Attended International Visitors Leadership Program of the United States, Department of State
- Member of the Civil Society Organizations; HIV and AIDS, maternal & child health and access to medicines coalitions
- Board Member on the Positive Men’s Union (POMU) 2010 to present
- Member of the technical committee of the Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders’ Initiative for Community Action on HIV and AIDS at the local level (AMICAALL) Uganda, 2010 to 2014
- Written numerous conference papers and reports relating to innovation in healthcare, knowledge transfer and patient-centred healthcare
