New policy collaborations

The IAPO Governing Board recently signed up to several collaborative campaigns. We declared our support for the people and patient-centred integrated healthcare (PPIC) for all, which is strongly aligned with our own Declaration of Patient-Centred Heathcare. This statement was led by the International College of Person-Centred Medicine (ICPCM) and we support the call to individual and collaborative action that is included in the Declaration.

Secondly, we confirmed our support for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) led statement on tackling medicine supply shortages. Patients’ needs and the impact of any shortage of medicines on patients needs to be central to decisions taken to prevent, manage and remediate supply shortages.

Lastly, we also responded to the World Health Organization's Statement on Public Disclosure of Clinical Trial Results.

IAPO Principles of Universal Health Coverage now available

The IAPO Principles on Universal Health Coverage that have been developed with your input underpin all our advocacy are now on the website to be used in your work. They will form the base of our planning for the next three years.

As all this collaborative policy work shows, achieving patient-centred healthcare at every level and in every community requires the support and collaboration of patients and patients’ organizations, policy-makers, health professionals, service providers and health-related industries.

Thanks for your help with PROTECT

Thank you to everyone who has already responded to our recent email requesting expressions of interest for reviewing material for PROTECT, one of the European projects we are involved in. We will follow up with you in early December.

Apologies if you have been unable to access the other survey we circulated asking how you access information about the Ebola outbreak. There have been technical difficulties with this survey, and we will let you know as soon as we can if it is still possible to participate.
