Dr. Tomen Agu, Regional Ambassador

Dr Tomen Agu

Dr. Tomen Egbe Agu is a psychologist at the Centre for Initiative and Development (CFID) in Northeast Nigeria, a patient-driven organization.

As a father of a daughter with a disability, he brings direct lived experience of stigma and discrimination faced by families in schools and communities. Dr. Agu leads the initiative “Fathers Foot-in-the-Door,” which documents the experiences of fathers and families raising children with disabilities.

The initiative uses these narratives to advocate for equitable, inclusive policies that improve social participation in schools and communities. Their work focuses on amplifying caregiver voices and strengthening patient leadership across Africa to advance inclusive health and education systems.
