
Non Smit is the CEO of Multiple Sclerosis South Africa (MSSA), a patient-led organisation focused on support, access, and advocacy for people living with MS.
With over 30 years of experience as a social worker, counsellor, and MS advocate, she works across healthcare and community-based systems.
Her background includes business development, coaching SME start-ups, fundraising, and organisational leadership. She is a qualified ophthalmic assistant and an author in the disability sector.
Bringing lived experience through her late husband’s MS journey, Non contributes a grounded, patient-centred perspective to global patient advocacy, with a focus on fair access and translating progress into real-world impact in resource-constrained settings.
