1st virtual African Patients Congress (APC 2021)

1st virtual African Patients Congress (APC 2021)

Tuesday, 20 July 2021 to Wednesday, 21 July 2021

We're delighted to invite you to join the 1st virtual African Patients Congress (APC 2021) - ‘Co-creating Better Healthcare Systems’ to be held on 20 -21 July 2021.

Organised by IAPO, this patient-led regional convening will bring together IAPO's African membership with a variety of high-level healthcare stakeholders to share their vision on meaningful engagement of patients in co-creating and building back better healthcare post-pandemic.

This year's theme of Co-creating better healthcare systems will provide a platform for delegates to engage in focused discussion onthe critical elements in building back better post-pandemic, health systems strengthening and preparedness through patient led and co-created innovative solutions. IAPO believes the pandemic has created a perfect condition for the African Union and its Members States to be introspective about current health policies and about civil society engagement in healthcare delivery. Holding our 1st APC 2021 is an opportunity to engage in focused discussion on health systems strengthening and preparedness and clearly map out the role that patients can play in the plans.

Through panel discussions, keynote session and patient experiences and work, attendees will explore various opportunities to advance our efforts towards stronger patient engagement in African healthcare to build back better and fairer from COVID-19, especially and in line with the increasing regulatory harmonisation across Africa with the set-up of the African Medicines Agency.

We invite you to join us and add your voice to the regional patient movement. You can find all information about APC 2021 including the programme, theme description, registration and so much more on the official congress page: https://www.iapo.org.uk/african-patients-congress!

Registration is free!
