1st webinar of the medication without harm webinar series - "An approach towards medication safety for Patients and Family "

Formally launched at the Second Global Ministerial Patient Safety Summit in Bonn, Germany on 29 March 2017, the 3rd WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm, proposed solutions to address many of the obstacles the world faces today to ensure the safety of medication practices. WHO’s goal was to achieve widespread engagement and commitment of WHO Member States and professional bodies around the world to reduce harm associated with medication.

World Patient Safety Day 2022 slogan is ‘Medication Without Harm’. This global campaign reaffirms the objectives of the WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm, launched by WHO in 2017.          

In line with this, IAPO and the Patient Academy for Innovation and Research (PAIR Academy) are launching a webinar series to explore "medication safety for patients and family", within WHO’s Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm, to improve medication safety.

The 1st webinar is scheduled for March 19th, 2022, from 11:30 to 12:30 GMT with the theme "An approach towards medication safety for patients and family." 

The patient safety webinar series will focus on the strategic framework of the Global Patient Safety Challenge, which depicts the four domains of the challenge: patients and the public, health care professionals, medicine, and systems and practices of medication, and the three key action areas—namely polypharmacy, high-risk situations, and transitions of care, The series of webinars will share challenges, technical strategies, tools, and patient experiences in implementing the Strategic Framework of the Global Patient Safety Challenge to reduce medication-related harm.
