3rd United Nations High-level Meeting on NCDs

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will host the third High-level Meeting on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The aim of the meeting will be to undertake a comprehensive review of the global and national progress achieved in putting measures in place that protect people from dying too young from heart and lung diseases, cancers and diabetes.

The high-level meeting will take place from 10.00 to 6.00 pm at the UN Headquarters in New York. 

The high-level meeting will consist of an opening segment, a plenary segment, two consecutive multi-stakeholder panels and a closing segment. More information on the planned programme can be found in the UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/72/274

Registration for the meeting is still open for representatives of non-governmental organizations withUnited Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) consultative status, as well as civil society organizations, academia, medical associations and the private sector with special accreditation.

The opening, plenary and closing segments will be held in Conference Room 4.

The two consecutive multi-stakeholder panels will be held in parallel in the ECOSOC Council Chamber.

As seating is limited, to ensure the broadest possible participation in the high-level meeting:

  • Each registrant must choose to attend the meeting either in Conference Room 4 OR the ECOSOC Chamber;
  • Each organization may register up to two representatives.
