We are pleased to announce two new opportunities to work with IAPO. Apply to become our new Member Engagement and Policy Officer or our new Research and Policy Officer.  

The International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO) is a unique global alliance representing patients of all nations across all disease areas. We work to promote patient-centred healthcare around the world. With over 250 members in over 60 countries, we represent an estimated 365 million patients. Our vision is to see patients placed at the centre of healthcare. Our mission is to help build patient-centred healthcare worldwide.  

Member Engagement and Policy Officer

  • c. £25,000 p.a. plus pension
  • Full time, 12 month fixed term contract
  • London

The Member Engagement and Policy Officer is the primary contact point for IAPO’s 250 members within the organization. This role provides the opportunity to build working relationships with a wide range of people from different countries and backgrounds, from a wide range of health-related organizations worldwide. The role focuses on working with members to understand their needs and requirements, and feeding these into the members’ programme, IAPO policy positions, project development and other work programmes.

If you have good experience of engagement and facilitation, particularly of facilitating learning and development, and the enthusiasm and commitment to support, advise and work with NGOs to enable them to become more effective in their work towards patient-centred healthcare in their own country or region, please apply. See the full job description and person specification.  

Research and Policy Officer

  • c. £25,000 p.a. plus pension
  • Part time – 3 days a week, 12 month fixed term contract
  • London

The Research and Policy Officer’s role encompasses working on and supporting IAPO’s policy activities including research, policy development and project work. This role is primarily to deliver the agreed workplan for the GetReal project, a three-year collaborative European Project in which IAPO is a partner. IAPO's role is to bring the perspective of patients and patients' organizations to this work, and facilitate the input of member organizations into the study. The role also encompasses input into other IAPO policy work.

If you want to make a difference to the healthcare of patients worldwide, have experience in a research role, strong research skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences (including non-specialists/ a lay audience), please apply.
