IAPO Members stories on COVID-19

Overview

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought up immense challenges to how patients experience healthcare.

Medicines shortage, disruption of treatments and difficulties to access mental health services are some examples of the problems they face. On the other hand, many patients have also benefited from a wave of solidarity, where help comes in the form of information, physical resources or emotional support.

Through a series of articles, our members share their experiences and raise awareness on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting their work and the lives of the patients they represent. From a multiple myeloma peer support network between organizations located in neighbouring countries to a legal action that restarted fertility treatments for more than 5000 patients, you will learn about the incredible work our members are doing worldwide.

In addition to these stories, we have also created a web page with a summary of initiatives from our members to help fight the pandemic and support patients. We invite you to visit this area often as we are constantly updating it.
