In our commitment to broadening the participation of patient organizations at our 2nd Asia Pacific Patients Congress (APPC 2020), we have set up an Open Call for IAPO Members’ and other patient organizations’ participation. As an online event, APPC 2020 will offer opportunities to engage organizations through interactive tools such as videos, posters, text chats, polls and live sessions.
We are accepting applications for the following categories:
1. Poster or video to be showcased in the IAPO Members booth at the virtual Exhibit Hall. This is an opportunity to promote your organization’s practical work in the following areas: patient safety, access to and quality of care, health literacy, or universal health coverage. We will provide selectees with the poster template and video guidelines.
2. Story at the Patient Shouting Café session, where patients will share their stories of patient harm, denial of access, discrimination and other complaints or challenges faced when accessing healthcare. For each story presented, a solution will be recommended with the aim of avoiding similar situations to happen again.
3. Grant to support your COVID-19 Response Activity. IAPO will grant up to U$ 1000 to IAPO Members and Members of IAPO Members in Lower-middle and Low-income countries in the Asia Pacific region who want to support patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At APPC 2020, we are also offering Members in the Asia Pacific region the possibility of having a free booth in the virtual Exhibit Hall to promote their organization’s work related to patient-centred healthcare, health systems strengthening and patient safety innovation. We have a very limited number of booths so please get in touch with us by 3 November 2020 if you would like to learn more about exhibiting at APPC 2020.
