There are less than two months to go until the 7th Global Patients Congress! Please register now if you intend to join us. We are pulling together final preparations and do not want you to miss out.  

Your to-do list

1. Register now

Even though attendance is free for one delegate from each member organization, this space can only be granted while spaces last. Register now.  

2. Book your workshops

If you have registered but not yet booked your workshops, please do so now. You need to log into your registration account with your password (if you no longer have this, please contact: carol.stevenson@novusmem.co.uk) to make your choices.  

3. Book your accommodation

We have secured a reduced rate for accommodation at the Selsdon Park Hotel but rooms are selling out so please book soon. All registered delegates are sent an information pack which gives details on how to book, along with other options if you are unsuccessful at the Selsdon.

 

Speaker spotlight

Dr Bruce Eshaya-Chauvin, Health Care in Danger Project, International Committee of the Red Cross  

Dr Eshaya-Chauvin is a physician with broad experience and expertise in international public health and humanitarian action. Former head of Heath Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and head of the Health Department of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, he is the Medical Advisor to the Health Care in Danger Project. The project aims to make healthcare delivery safer around the world by mobilizing experts to develop practical measures for decision-makers, military, humanitarian organizations and health professionals.

Speaker releases patient group handbook on research and drug development 

Another keynote speaker, Dr Nick Sireau, CEO of AKU Society in the UK and founder of Findacure, has recently released a new book to help patient groups sustainably grow. The Patient Group Handbook: A Practical Guide for Research and Drug Development provides tools and advice on topics such as: 

  • How to set up and manage a patient group: US and UK perspectives
  • How to promote basic research
  • How to engage with academia for drug discovery
  • How to engage with industry
  • Crowdfunding for rare diseases
