Flavia Kyomukama, Board Member

Flavia Kyomukama is a Health/HIV, human rights and gender equality activist and advocate. Flavia has lived with HIV since 1994 and is particularly very passionate about women's and girl’s rights. 

Flavia is a teacher, counsellor and mentor both professionally and in her day-to-day living. Flavia openly lives with HIV and is a survivor of Cervical Cancer. She is a great advocate for patient’s rights in the country as well as at the global level. 

  

Experience
  • Flavia is currently the Executive Director of Action Group for Health Human Rights HIV/AIDS (AGHA) and Coordinator of the Women@40 campaign, organised by the Movement of Women Living with HIV in Uganda (MOWHA), and leads the older women’s SRHR and Non-communicable diseases advocacy and education, especially menopause
  • Represents communities on several Ministry of Health committees, including PMTCT, Condon coordination, and Non-Communicable Diseases, and represents communities at the Uganda CCM GFATM, at Uganda ADIS Commission Policy TWG, including Social Support and Protection, Resource Mobilisation, Gender and Equity TWGs and Equity Plan Steering Committee
  • Flavia is a member of the African Feminist Forum and represents communities on the WHO Community Advisory Board on Post-Partum Heamorrhage (WHO CAB - PPH)
  • Flavia has previously represented communities at the Global network of People living with HIV Network (GNP+), PEPFAR COP Community Engagements in Uganda.
